The village got populated some 300 years ago when some Thakur families came down to reside over here.
Before that, it was a secluded place and a integral part of Gahvarvan Forest. As per census 2001 village
population is 707 with total 99 households. Agriculture is the main source of income.

Here is a private garden of Radhika where even Krishna has to take permission of
Radha’s sakhis to enter.
