Vrishbhanu Kund & Kirti Kund,Barsana

These are the kunds with heritage importance.Overlooking from the Radha Rani Temple, there is a huge complex spread over 17 acres of land and is enclosed by strong masonry walls on all the four sides. This complex encloses two fairly large sized water ponds known as Vrishbhanu Kund and Kirti Kund named after the parents of Radha Rani. It is said that King Vrishbhanu used to come here daily for bathing. He would also perform his morning prayers here. Once while bathing, Vrishbhanu got Radhika here in the form of a newly born baby girl, floating upon a lotus petal. Sometimes Radha Rani used to come here for water sports with her consorts. Often Krishna also joined Radha here, in the hide and seek game and other water sports. This pond is extremely enchanting surrounded by beautiful Jiyala trees.
