As per census 2001 village population is 3020 with total 426 households. Main source of income is dairy farming and agriculture. BPL families 100.
Cultural Significance:
This village is the birthplace of Yashoda, the mother of Krishna. So it is named as Mahrana for being the village of Yashoda’s mother and father “ Maai ka of Yashoda” . it is the Nanihal of Krishna, the maternal grand parents village. In Sammohan Tantra this village is mentioned as Mohini Van.
