Rangdevi ji had got few pearls from Sun-God, which she gifted to Radha in the form of necklace. Due to divine touch of Radha, these pearls got productive capacity and they got multiplied in a large number of jewels, when Radha planted them in this Kund. Thus it was named as Ratna Kund. Krishna could create pearls from pearls, but Radha created jewels from pearls.
